TODAY'S OBJECTIVE:
Students will review TEACH school policies, expectations, and CA Math state standards. DUE BY END OF CLASS: None
DO NOW: On the sticky note provided, answer the following questions: Why is math important to you? How can I (Mrs. Washington-Davis), help you succeed and be successful in class?
ACTIVITY: Welcome 6th grade Introductions.
ACTIVITY: Rules and expectations/Bell schedules/Common Core Standards.
Introduce the McGraw-Hill Education Mathematics curriculum called Reveal Math.
Students will watch Why do people get so anxious about math? - Orly Rubinsten. Students will take notes.
ACTIVITY: Students will introduce themselves and participate in Interviewing with a Friend Activity.
ACTIVITY: Students will present their answers, and place sticky on the vision poster board for their corresponding math period.

WEDNESDAY 8/16/23
TODAY'S OBJECTIVE:
Students will review TEACH school policies, expectations, and CA Math subject matter state standards.
Students will discuss why math is difficult or easy.
Students will be introduced to Reveal Math program-learn to navigate through program, student dashboard, modules, and tool kit.
Students will watch Why Should You Study Math? video and take notes. Please find one error of information in the video.
Students will work getting to know each other by completing the Special Assignment:Piece of Me Project.
Students will start presenting. (All Periods).

TODAY'S OBJECTIVE:
Students will review TEACH school policies, expectations, and CA Math subject matter state standards.
Students will review what to except when they take the Diagnostics and Placement Test 6th grade. The test covers 5th grade standards that are prerequisites for 6th grade. The test is used to determine the student's skill level and if they are ready for 6th grade math standards.
DUE BY END OF CLASS: Turn in evidence that the Math Diagnostic was completed.
